I purchased an iPad 3 so it's only fair that I revisit Mass Effect: Infiltrator.
Right before the iPad launched an update was released for the game to support the new high resolution retina display. The game looks quite good for the most part as a result. Some textures look a bit low res but the main character - which is what you see for the entire game - looks really good.
Having a larger screen also allows the controls work much better since there is more screen space to work with. I think some of the awkwardness I felt before was due to trying to control the game on a tiny screen and see the game. That's not an issue on an iPad. I've had no problems controlling the game.
The other thing I noticed is the game hasn't crashed once to roughly the same point I made it to when playing on an iPod. This could either be due to the iPad being a more powerful system or the retina display update also contained undocumented crash fixes. I suspect it's because the iPad is more powerful but either way the game runs smoother and hasn't crashed (yet). I did experience stuttering sometimes on the iPod but haven't seen anything of the sort on the iPad.
Playing on the iPad is unsurprisingly a much better experience than playing it on an iPod. Either way I found the game enjoyable.
